This week my WOW is the fact that I am almost half way to conchering my fear of heights here is some pictures of me. I was terrified of climbingthe walls. I was even the demonstration!!!

This week my Work Of The Week is my three limericks. I chose these because I think that they are really creative and original. What we had to do was there had to be Five lines in each limerick and the rhyming pattern had to be AABBA and the syllables in the first, second and fifth line had to be the same and they had to rhyme. It’s the same with the third and fourth line.
Limerick One-
I’m beginning to write a limerick
But I’m going to be sick
It’s staring to rhyme
But it’s never in time
I’m never going to get a big tick.
Limerick Two-
One, Two, Three, Four
Come and knock on my door
Uh, Oh
Here we go
Theres a monster on my floor.
Limerick Three-
There once was a baboon
Who had a big balloon
He flew up high
Into the sky
And landed with a big KABOOM!!

This week I chose my writing because I think that I made my story really desceriptive which made it quite long and it is only a five minute period of time. So here it is:
Door Slamming Incident
BANG goes Zeke hitting the wall and then again and again just like in pinball.”Ouch! I think I hit the mirror that time.” Everyone started laughing and giggling at him. Oh No he’s coming into the spare room Anita, Logan and I all start frantically start looking for a hiding place. We finally all managed to scramble behind the door. After a while Zeke gave up and shuffled out of the room. Unfortunately he heard our sigh of relief and came back in. Anita and Logan were way to quick for him and they both at he same time ran for the door. ‘3,2,1 go” Anita whispered to Logan. At one they both pushed on the door hoping to close it but…. THUMP! the door had accidentaly hit Zeke in the face. We all started laughing hard out we were rolling on the on the ground kicking our legs like babies that are crying except we were laughing. We were definately planning on doing that again.
I hope you liked my story I think it is pretty funny.
This week I chose my Basic Facts time because I think I have improved on it really well.
At the start of the year my goal was to try and keep my time under three minutes and I think I have worked on it really hard.
This week my Work Of The Week is my Flash Facts. My scores have been improving heaps this term and I’m hoping to get up to Book 6 in the next couple of weeks.

This week my WOW is my writing because I think I used my focus well and used interesting verbs,adjectives and adverbs.
My Focus was to use more interesting simales,personification and metaphors.
My story is about playing Blind Mans Bluff:
“Shh! he’s coming.” I hear the voice from below me. BANG!! the hallway cupboards open and shut, we all know it’s Hamish trying to tag us blind folded for Blond Mans Bluff. Ouch someones pulling on my leg, I try not to scream. Oh No my hands are starting to sweat like a pig so now the walls feel like skin after someone has applied moisturiser. I’m slipping I hear Hamish’s voice below me ” Is this Laura?”
“Yes” I hear Anita’s voice from the other end of the hallway. Now I am in and I keep feeling people tap me on the shoulder so that I would spin around as quick as a Vomitron and smack my fingers on the wall. I find someone, but who is it?
“I found you Anita!!”
“yes” she replies and the game goes on and on and on…
In Class we have been doing Graphs on anything you want Such as eye colours, Hair colours etc… My group (Me, Anita, Alesha and Laura) done Favourite types of movies such as Comedy, Romance, Horror/Thriller, Drama, Animated, Adventure,and Other. We had to go around the class doing a tally graph once we done that we had to go and make a bar graph so show our results as you can see we had Horror/ Thriller was the most popular movie in room 1. We were wondering if you change movies as you get older.So we done room 2 and there most popular movie was Adventure so from our results we can say that you must change your type of movie as you get older.

Overview…
My experiment was to see if plants needed compost to grow.
My prediction was the plant with grass will grow.

And finally our plant in ash…
Results…
Our results wern’ that good because as you can see the soil plant was the only one that grew well. The Grass plant only started to come out of it’s shell. And the ash plant did not grow at all.So I guess that plants don’t grow that quick with grass and don’t grow to well with ash.
Closer observations…
Our plants did not grow the same but the the lupin in soil did grow the biggest and the lupin planted in grass grew the second biiggest and the ash grew the least actually it didn’t grow at all.so I guess that soil will grow quicker.
Problem…
Here are some problems that we had with our plants growing.
+Our first plant someone had kicked it over so we had to restart.
+ We think that our plants wern’t in a very good location so that is what we will improve.
+ We probably didn’t water our plants the same amount as each other so that may have affected the growth.
Things I would do differently next time…
We would change the location instead of being beside the office we would put by the class room door.
I would make sure to water both plants exactly the same and more often than we did this time. And we would make sure our calculations are more acurate than this time.
Further Studies…
Here are some things that I can think of that I could study on next time.
+ I would measure how long the roots are or how tall it gets.
+ And I would also study on the change in the seed if it shrinks or expands.
